AS440 AVR is a half-wave phase-controlled thyristor-type AVR for brushless generators. It uses Surface Mount Technology (SMT) for a compact design.
Efficient semiconductors ensure positive voltage build-up from residual levels. The AVR has separate terminals for power and voltage sensing. It allows direct excitation power from the stator winding for basic applications or from an auxiliary winding for sustained short-circuit performance.
The As440 AVR connects to the main stator and exciter field windings. It provides closed-loop control of the output voltage with a load regulation accuracy of +/- 1.0%. The voltage sensing terminals continuously sample the output windings. Based on this sample voltage, the AVR adjusts the power to the exciter and main fields. This maintains the output voltage within specified limits and compensates for variations in load, speed, temperature, and power factor.
